It is a village worth visiting, perhaps one of the most evocative of the entire island. It seems like you can still see the miners walking and working inside this large complex which extends for around 2700 ha. The mining complex remained in operation until 1965; arsenopyrite was mined there, and included around 30 buildings, most of which can still be visited. What makes the mining village unique is that strange e fascinating symbiosis between territory, vintage industrial plants and local construction, typical of the Villaputze area, whose charm can still be felt today. There are load-bearing stone walls, tile roofing, memories of load-bearing wooden structures: in short, much of what could be admired in the houses of the town.
Those who choose to visit the village will also be able to see the surrounding area, a numerous sequence of archaeological references all to photograph and explore.
You can reach the mining village by taking the SS 125: reached the bridge Corr'e Cerbu, at km 82 you must take a dirt road. This leads to the bed of the stream that gives its name to the village. At this point you have to travel about ten kilometers to see it emerge, from the earth the first buildings of Baccu Locci.
