The ancient instrument, emblem of Sardinia throughout the world, he made Villaputzu's fortune. It's from the nineteenth century, and perhaps before that, that the country has opened up to many music masters and launeddas players who have proven capable of preserving and passing on a musical heritage to make the rest of the island envious. Moreover, the sound of the launeddas is one that is never forgotten, harmonious and romantic: strange if you think about the simplicity of the materials with which these instruments are made. You need marsh reeds and the capable and trained hands of a craftsman to cut the reed, pierce it and tie it properly.

Right in Villaputzu for several years, in August, the suggestive takes place Launeddas festival which attracts the greatest players and masters from all over the island.
